Sarah Palin's notion of "respectful" political dialogue
Just heard Sarah Palin's statement criticizing the press for suggesting heated political talk could have contributed to the climate leading to the Arizona shootings. When I heard her say the problem isn't with "law abiding citizens who respectfully exercise their first amendment right" I have to wonder if she has any clue what the word respectful means? She can hardly say a paragraph without loading it with emotionally charged terms, and painting the world in her good guys v. bad guys views. That is the crux of the complaint from her opponents - she is clueless about what it means to be respectful - and she just seems to prove it every time she opens her mouth.
